Pitti Immagine Filati was a flow of
creativity, color, texture and shape. Exhibition was a tribute to modern
technology. Feel the Yarn exhibit showcasing aspiring knitwear designers,
proves that there is no limit to human creativity.
Feel the Yarn
its training project organized by Toscana
Promozione and ICE (Italian Trade Commission) and Pitti Filati. Once a year students from
international design schools come to Italy for short training program on
material and textile process. By the end of the training program each student presents
2-3 garments. Winner of the competition then awarded with free supplies of yarn
and materials to use in future creative work.
This year theme of
the competition was “ Pull-Lovers. A new filling for the knit”. Application of
the modern knitting and finishing techniques transformed conventional sweater
making into the modern art form.
