Pitti Bimbo 77: KIDSROOMZOOM

Children wear market today is a replica of adult fashion market. Trade fairs, trend analysis reports, catwalks reports are not only attributes of women and men fashions. During my time at the fair I visited 3 pavilions: Apartment, Super Street and Sport Generation. Each of those represents different fashion trends.

I have to say that I was impressed by design of the “Apartment” pavilion. Wild tropical plants are great background for kids’ wear fashion companies that promote eco-fashion.

Super Street pavilion had more casual look, with brands offering jeans, t-shirts and jackets.

Main pavilion were decorated with small wooden motorcycles echoing a theme of this year Pitti fairs.

My classmates already mentioned a most of the trends, not to repeat them I will only focus on retro look, which is my personal favorite. I would like to introduce project KIDSROOMZOOM, which in my opinion is the embodiment of vintage trend in children products. KIDSROOMZOOM exhibits presented products from different designers and different companies. Bright wooden toys, stuffed animals, children books and kids’ room décor everything was made in retro classic style, kind of  “Nutcracker” feel.

Founder Paola Noe curates this project. Objective of the project is to introduce contemporary design and art in products that are designed for children. In my opinion, concept of this project is might be a beginning of new marketing communication technique. It’s a mix of pop-up shop and a concept store ideas, when different product categories from different brands that are offered to the same target auditory presented to the consumer through installation of a snap-shot of “real life”. In other words, different brands combining their resources   in order to support eachother's products' promotion.
